Check out my interview with author J Reese Bradley. Well, it was more like a very casual conversation about The Chosen Kids Saga. At times, I forgot it was an interview because she is so much fun and it was like having coffee with one of the girls. Oh, and be warned, my camera lighting is horrible with dark shadows and discoloration. (I’m working on getting a new one.) Just keep it on in the background and listen instead of watch. Ha-ha!

The interview is a little long. We probably should have stopped recording at about the hour mark, because we started chatting about random things. So feel free to tune out at that point.

Ms. Bradley is the author of the wonderful middle-grade Brumbletide series that is like a mix of The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter written with a Christian worldview. You can find them on Amazon.

Hey everyone—Especially my writer friends!

I had the opportunity to rant about our need for Christian middle-grade fiction and share some of my writing journey with the lovely @dalenebickel on her Ink & Impact podcast. We discuss why middle-grade Christian fiction is needed now more than ever, and I give a few tips that I have learned during this self-publishing process.

✍🏼

I highly recommend the Ink & Impact podcast to Christian writers—no matter what stage you’re in or whether you are self-published or traditionally published. I’m not just saying this because I was a guest. I have learned so much from Dalene. Her tips, insights, and encouragement on the whole writing journey are invaluable. Her experience as a Christian writer herself is so relatable. And she shares it with raw honesty. And I also love that she reminds us we are called as writers to make an impact in this lost world.

My very first podcast experience was a blessing and so much fun! I wasn’t sure what to expect or if I would freeze up. But Ms. Havig is such a funny and gracious host that she made me feel right at home. Listen in while I chat about the first book of the Chosen Kids. I give extra details on the plot, a little background info, and we discuss other Christian middle-grade books. There aren’t enough!

This is my official FAVORITE bookish podcast. I highly recommend this show if you are on the lookout for good Christian fiction. She talks to many writers of all sorts of genres. I have discovered amazing books that I wouldn’t have heard of if not for her show. Not only does she interview best-selling authors, she gives time to self-publishers like me. She is a blessing and a prolific author of over 100 Christian fiction books, including a middle-grade fantasy series titled Annals of Wynnewood.
